Where did the Way Out West name come from?

People often ask us about the name Way Out West Productions and where it comes from 🌵

Well, it all started with where the company started– the West of Ireland. But the name goes even deeper. It's a shout out to our Founder, Davids 91 year old Grandad, the guy who got him obsessed with movies when he was just a kid. Picture this: back in his early childhood, train adventures would be punctuated with a pitstop at this now ancient place called HMV.

Man, they were fascinated by those Laurel and Hardy films, once draped in the hues of black and white, now were magically transmuted into colour. They can  feel the shared fascination as they handpicked one of these gems from the shelf, anticipation hanging thick in the air till they got home. "We'd pick one out, sit down, and the laughs? Oh man, you couldn't put a price on those."

Their top pick was a flick called "Way Out West."
